About the lab
We are a bunch of chemists and biochemists who are trying to explore various unexplored corners in the field of chemistry and biology. Most noted search areas include (i) Designing of anisotropic nanoscale materials (plasmonic and magnetic) with extraordinary optical and catalytic activity, (ii) transition metal nanoparticle/ Transition metal chalcogenide quantum dot (TMNP/TMCQD) or transition metal nanoparticle/ Transition metal semiconductor quantum dot (TMNP/TMSCQD) composites for enhanced photo- and electro-catalytic activity, (iii) Designing plasmonic nanoparticles for theranostics and multiscale biophysical investigations at nano-bio interfaces, (iv) Plasmonic nanostructure in liposomal fold for photoselective drug delivery, (v) Designing electrocatalysts and fabrication of commercially sustainable electrolyzers and fuel cells, (vi) Understanding the relation between chirality, plasmonic activity, and catalytic (photo/electro) activity of nanoscale materials, (vii) Clinical prospects of plasmonic nanomaterials in investigating virus infection and its metabolic regulation, and (viii) Development of optical and force-field techniques for single particle/cell theranostic tracking.
Vision
We dream of achieving the highest level of control to formulate nanoscale materials and their 2D and 3D assemblies to explore various physicochemical phenomena that can effectively be harnessed to achieve unexpected outcomes both in chemical and biological systems. The ultimate goal of the laboratory is to conduct translational research for a sustainable future.
